Orana Green Streets

We are delighted to have been recognised for our work on the Orana Green Streets project. The design concept started in 2019 and required the input of everyone in the Orana sales, design and construction team.
To achieve optimum urban greening outcomes, a truly multi-disciplinary approach is required. From housing typology, urban design, traffic movement and parking ratios, servicing alignments, geotechnical and soil science, construction sequencing, tree species selection, private and public realm landscape design and client/public relations, everyone in the project team needs to be committed. Most of all, it needs vision and courage – thanks to Balcon Group and the City of Casey for providing the environment for the whole project team to flourish.
Typical green streets have achieved an increase of 50% in permeability and are forecast to achieve 55% canopy cover of the road reserve for a 473-lot area. Very proud to have been part of the team and providing this legacy for the future community of Orana. We are excited to say there is more innovation to come!
